Kids With High IQs Grow Up to Be
Vegetarians
(HealthDay News, 12/15/06)
British researcher, Catharine Gale of the MRC Epidemiology
Resource Centre of the University of Southampton and
Southampton General Hospital, and team, analyzed data on
nearly 8,200 thirty-year old adults, whose IQ had been
assessed at age 10. The investigators found that children with
high IQs were likelier to follow a vegetarian diet as adults
than those with lower scores. These findings suggest that
people with higher IQs tend to pay attention to what they eat
and may have a healthier lifestyle, which could explain why
previous studies have linked intelligence with a decreased
risk of heart disease.
