Acid Reflux May Raise Risk of Cancer of Larynx
(NY, Reuters Health, 9/29/06)

Dr. Michael Vaezi of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, and team, matched 96 adults with laryngeal cancer to a group without the disease. The scientists found that subjects with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) had double the risk of developing cancer of the larynx (voice box) as those without the condition.
