Pesticide Exposure Damages Nervous System, Brain
(HealthDay News, 8/4/06)

In experiments on mice, Patrick Carr of the University of North Dakota, and colleagues, found a link between pesticide exposure and neurological changes affecting the areas of the brain involved in diseases like MS, epilepsy, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. The investigators also reported that pesticides may cause severe gastrointestinal damage. The scientists are attempting to identify pesticide dangers, the ways exposure occurs, and methods for mitigating health risks.
