Eating Fatty Fish Warded Off Kidney
Cancer in Study
(Chicago, Reuters Health, 9/19/06)
A 15-year study of 61,000 Swedish women conducted by Alicja
Wolk of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and team,
showed that regular consumption of fatty fish—like salmon,
mackerel and herring—may significantly lower the risk of
kidney cancer. Scientists speculate that the omega-3 acids and
Vitamin D in the fish oil may have a preventive effect.
