Anti-Inflammatory Drug Might Ease Gum
Disease
(HealthDay News. 3/10/06)
Scientists at Boston University tested eicosapentanoic
acid-derived Resolvin E1 on rabbits and found that this
byproduct of omega-3 fatty acids helped protect the animals
from gum deterioration. The researchers speculate that
treating and/or preventing oral inflammation may help prevent
human gum disease.
