Anti-Inflammatory Drug Might Ease Gum Disease

Scientists at Boston University tested eicosapentanoic acid-derived Resolvin E1 on rabbits and found that this byproduct of omega-3 fatty acids helped protect the animals from gum deterioration. The researchers speculate that treating and/or preventing oral inflammation may help prevent human gum disease.
