Sulfur-Based
Supplement May Fight Arthritis
(HealthDayNews, 8/30/05)
In a 12-week randomized double-blind study, Arizona doctors
from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe
and the Arthritis Health Center in Scottsdale, gave 25
patients with knee arthritis 3 grams of methylsulfonylmethane
(MSM) twice daily. The researchers found that the subjects
taking MSM, a natural sulfur compound, had improved
functioning and reduced pain, compared to the control group.
