Health Tip: Got Rosacea?
(HealthDayNews, 3/31/05)

Rosacea is characterized by redness of the cheeks and nose. The American Academy of Dermatology says that the best way for those affected to prevent a rosacea outbreak is for them to avoid foods that make the face red or flushed, like hot drinks, spicy foods, caffeine and alcoholic beverages. In addition, they recommend protecting oneself from the sun and from extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold. They also advise people with this condition not to rub, scrub or massage the face and not to use irritating skin products. They suggest logging outbreaks to pinpoint triggering factors, such as foods, activities or medications.
