Dietary Fiber Fights High Blood Pressure
(HealthDayNews, 3/4/05)

Seamus Whelton of Tulane University, and colleagues, reviewed data from 25 clinical trials, which involved almost 1,500 subjects, and found an association between eating about 7 to 19 grams of fiber daily and lowered systolic and diastolic blood pressure. This meta-analysis suggests that eating adequate amounts of fiber may help normalize blood pressure levels.
