Bananas, Root Veggies May Cut Kidney
Cancer Risk
(NY, Reuters Health, 1/21/05)
Dr. Bahram Rashidkhani of the Karolinska Institute in
Stockholm, Sweden, and team, had 61,000 women complete
dietary questionnaires. The investigators then tracked these
subjects for an average of 13 years. The researchers found
that cancer risk was significantly reduced for subjects who
routinely ate bananas, root vegetables (like carrots and
beets), salad vegetables (including cucumbers and lettuce)
and white cabbage.
