Premenstrual Syndrome Predicts Menopausal Symptoms
(NY, Reuters Health, 4/30/04)

Dr. E. W. Freeman, from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and team, surveyed 426 women about premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and then tracked them for 5 years. Of the 320 participants who completed the trial, 176 became menopausal. The researchers found that subjects who had PMS were more likely than their non-PMS peers to develop adverse symptoms during menopause, including hot flushes, depressed mood, poor sleep and decreased libido
