Dietary
Folate May Lower Ovarian Cancer Risk
(NY, Reuters Health, 3/3/04)
Dr. Alicja Wolk, from the Karolinska Institute in
Stockholm, Sweden, and team, reviewed data for more than
60,000 women, who were cancer-free at the study’s onset. Among
subjects who consumed two or more alcoholic drinks weekly,
those whose diets contained the highest amounts of folate,
also known as folic acid, had a reduced risk of developing
ovarian cancer, when compared with those consuming the lowest
levels of dietary folate |
