Diet, Alcohol Linked to Nearly 1/3 of Cancer Cases

Dr Tim Key of the University of Oxford, and team, are conducting the EPIC study to assess the diets and cancer incidence among 500,000 subjects in 10 countries. The researchers report that diet, obesity and alcohol appear to play key roles in the development of cancer and that smoking magnifies this risk. The investigators believe that study results will ultimately provide useful information on how specific dietary elements relate to cancer.
