A Boost for Pain Relief

Alan Cowan and fellow researchers at Temple University report that the nutritional supplement, glucosamine, used alone, does not block pain; however, when taken in combination with ibuprofen, it boosts pain relief. Scientists speculate that patients may be able to reduce their risk of side-effects by taking glucosamine to allow them to lower their ibuprofen dosage.
