When Dr. David Gaist and his team at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense compared 166 people who had newly-diagnosed neuropathy (a form of nerve damage) of unknown cause with healthy individuals, they found that the neuropathy patients were more likely to have taken cholesterol-lowering statin drugs.
