Study Links Pesticides with Parkinson's Disease
(NY, Reuters Health, 11/13/03)

In previous studies on lab rats, Dr. Todd B. Sherer, and associates at Emory University in Georgia, had shown that exposure to the pesticide, rotenone, produces cell damage and symptoms similar to those of Parkinson's Disease (PD). Now the researchers have tested pyridaben, fenazaquin, and fenpyroximate and found that both pyridaben and fenpyroximate produce cell damage; while fenazaquin is toxic only at extreme doses. These findings suggest that pesticides are one possible cause of Parkinson's Disease.
