Soy is protein-rich and can be used as a meat substitute to lower the intake of calories, fat and cholesterol. The Mayo Clinic recommends:

  • tofu in stir-fries or scrambled like eggs
  • soy burgers instead of ground beef
  • soy nuts as snacks
  • soy milk in coffee or on cereal
  • soy flour, substituting for up to 20% of regular flour when baking.
