Sesame Oil
Lowers Blood Pressure

According to a report presented at the Scientific Meeting
of the Inter-American Society of Hypertension, cooking with
sesame oil may reduce hypertension. When scientists studied
328 adults who were taking a calcium channel blocker to
control their blood pressure, the researchers found a
significant decrease in hypertension for the subjects who used
sesame oil as their sole cooking oil, thereby consuming about
35 grams of the oil daily for 60 days. On average, these
patients were able to reduce their medications by two-thirds |
