Insomniacs More Aggravated by Daily Stresss
 (NY, Reuters Health, 4/4/03)

According to Dr. Charles M. Morin of the Universite Laval in Quebec, insomniacs experience more stress than people who sleep well. Dr. Morin describes a vicious cycle for the sleep- deprived in which the lack of quality sleep promotes inattention, irritability and counterproductive daytime responses which, in turn, contribute to problems falling asleep. He says that doctors should provide patients with strategies for coping with stress in order to break the cycle.
