Ginseng Use During Pregnancy May Hurt Baby

Dr. Louis Chan, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and team, found that exposing developing rat embryos to ginsenoside, a component of ginseng, impaired growth and development, especially of their limbs. The findings suggest that perhaps women should avoid ginseng in the early stages of pregnancy, at least until more is known about possible side effects of this herb.
