Glucosamine
Supplement May Ease Knee Pain

In an Australian study of 46 volunteers with knee pain, Dr.
Rebecca Braham of Monash Univesity and team, gave
approximately half the participants 2 grams of glucosamine
daily and the rest, a placebo. Twelve weeks later, most (88%)
of the glucosamine group reported some improvement, as
compared to just 17% of those taking the placebo. Glucosamine,
a natural substance formed from a combination of glucose and
glutamine, may naturally protect cartilage from breaking down. |
