GSH and AIDS
Discussed on Healthline with Dr. Pressman 11/12/03
(The GSH Handbook, 1998)

AIDS is associated with chronic inflammation and oxidative stress, which consume glutathione (GSH) and thereby compromise the CD4 helper cells, leaving the body susceptible to opportunistic infections. Supplementation with GSH may be a way for the AIDS patient to break the downward spiral that leads from chronic inflammation and oxidative stress to T-cell dysfunction and opportunistic infection. When compared with conventional AIDS therapies, GSH supplementation is less costly, both financially and in terms of physical side effects.
