Eye Strain
(HealthDayNews, 10/16/03)
Oberlin College in Ohio suggests the following exercise to
reduce the eyestrain caused by staring at a computer for long
periods:
- Close your eyes and put the palms of your hands on your
eyes to let the warmth from your hands relax your eye
muscles.
- Rest your arms at your sides, and take several slow deep
breaths.
- When you open your eyes, soften your gaze by widening
your field of vision to focus on the entire screen. You
should be able to see all four corners. Look at the white
space of the margin and the areas between paragraphs.
- Close your eyes again, continuing to breathe slowly.
Open your eyes and repeat.
