Exercise,
Vitamin E Combo Can Slow Aging
(HealthDayNews, 8/11/03)
When James Jessup, associate professor at University of
Florida's College of Nursing, and team, studied 59 healthy
adults, aged 60 to 75, the researchers found that the subjects
who exercised regularly and took Vitamin E had a much lower
level of a blood marker that indicates cell damage from
oxidative stress. The scientists also found that even
non-exercisers who took Vitamin E had less oxidative stress
and lower blood pressure. These findings suggest that a
combination of "E" and exercise may protect the body against
premature aging by keeping cells from being damaged by free
radicals. |
