The combined effects of garlic oil and fish oil on the hepatic antioxidant and drug-metabolizing enzymes of rats
 (Britiish Journal of Nutrition, Vol. 89, Issue 2, Feb.2003)

Haw-Wen Chen and fellow researchers at Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan fed rats either a low maize oil (MO) diet, a high maize oil diet or a high fish oil (FO) diet, along with varied doses of garlic oil (GO). The researchers concluded that a regimen combining garlic oil and fish oil enhances the liver’s antioxidant and drug-metabolizing capability and that the two oils have a synergistic effect.
