Calcium Can
Be Critical Before Menopause
(HealthDayNews, 6/28/03)
The June issue of the Mayo Clinic Women's Health Source
reports that, while post-menopausal women are more aware that
their bones and muscles need calcium, younger women are also
at risk for calcium deficiency. A healthy diet that includes a
variety of foods, including green vegetables, may provide
sufficient calcium, but supplements may also be necessary. A
healthcare professional can recommend the proper type, dosage,
timing and synergistic complements (Vitamin D etc.) for
calcium supplementation. |
