Aspirin May
Cut Risk of Precancerous Colon Growths
(NY, Reuters Health, 3/5/03)
Dr. John A. Baron and colleagues studied 1,100 people who
had a history of intestinal polyps. They found that those who
took an 81-mg baby aspirin daily lessened their risk of polyp
recurrence by 19%. In a second study, the researchers found
that subjects with a history of colon cancer who took stronger
doses of aspirin (325 mg daily) reduced their risk of
developing polyps by 35%. |
