Vitamin B3
Helps Beat Back Alzheimer's Disease
(HealthScoutNews, 9 /25/02)
Surnan Mukherjee and fellow researchers at South Dakota's
State University's College of Pharmacy cultured brain cells in
a lab and then exposed them to a chemical that kills them in a
way similar to Alzheimer's Disease. The scientists found that
if they exposed the cells to Vitamin B3, nicotinamide, before
introducing the toxin, the cells didn't deteriorate as
rapidly. |
