Urine Test
May Predict Long-term Memory Loss
(Boston, Reuters Health, 11/25/02)
Dr. Arun Karlamangia, a researcher at the University of
California in L.A., and team, studied 154 healthy adults in
their seventies. The scientists initially measured the
subjects' urine levels of epinephrine and also tested their
mental functioning; then retested them at the 2.5 and 7 year
mark. The results showed that men who had greater increases in
epinephrine levels tended to have greater declines in memory
and mental functioning. |
