Protein May Speed Post Angioplasty Artery Narrowing
 (New York, Reuters Health, 5/30/02)

Researchers at the University Hospital in Bern, led by Dr. Guido Schnyder who is now at the University of California in San Diego, report that high levels of the amino acid, homocysteine, indicate an increased risk that blood vessels will re-clog after angioplasty. The researchers suggest that dietary changes and supplementation with B12 and B6 may dissipate the homocysteine and thereby lessen artery narrowing
