Painkillers May Prevent Prostate Cancer
 (Rochester, Minn., Reuters Science, 3/12/02)

Mayo clinic researchers found that men over 60 who took NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), like aspirin and ibuprofen, were less likely to develop prostate cancer. The researchers did not provide an explanation for this apparent protective effect on the prostate and it should also be noted that NSAIDs can have serious side-effects on the stomach and liver.
