Neuroprotective Effect of Vitamin E Supplementation
In Patients Treated with Cisplatin Chemotherapy
(PubMed, Journal of Clinical Oncology,
3/1/03)
Researchers at Regina Elena National Cancer Institute in
Rome, Italy, studied 47 patients who were receiving cisplatin
chemotherapy. Some of the subjects were given 300 mg of
Vitamin E prior to each treatment, continuing for a period of
3 months following treatment suspension. The scientists found
that the incidence and severity of peripheral neurotoxicity
were significantly lower for the participants receiving the
Vitamin E. |
