Mold in Home
May Mean Baby Breathing Problems
(NY, Reuters Health, 7/21/03)
Dr. Diane R. Gold, from Harvard University in Boston, and
team, studied 499 babies who had at least one allergic parent.
The researchers measured fungal levels in their homes and
found that high fungi levels, even where there was no apparent
dampness, were associated with an increased risk of infants
under a year old developing breathing problems, including
pneumonia. |
