Mercury
Fillings May Be Affecting Dentists
(London, Reuters Health, 4/30/02)
Dr. Ewan Macdonald of the Glasglow Royal Infirmary in
Scotland and team studied 180 dentists and found that they had
higher levels of mercury in their hair and nails and were more
likely to have kidney disorders. The dentists also did not
perform as well on tests of psychomotor skills, response times
& word recall as the control group. While this study does not
prove a direct link between mercury and the noted health
conditions, it raises questions for further research. |
