Manual
Therapy Works Best for Neck Pain in Study
(New York, Reuters Health, 5/20/02)
Dr. Jan Lucas of Monash University in Victoria, Australia
and fellow researchers assigned 183 patients with neck pain to
one of 3 types of treatment: routine care from a doctor,
exercise or manual therapy. Study participants who received
the manual therapy, in which they were passive while a
practitioner manipulated their neck, showed the greatest
improvement. |
