Manual Therapy Works Best for Neck Pain in Study
 (New York, Reuters Health, 5/20/02)

Dr. Jan Lucas of Monash University in Victoria, Australia and fellow researchers assigned 183 patients with neck pain to one of 3 types of treatment: routine care from a doctor, exercise or manual therapy. Study participants who received the manual therapy, in which they were passive while a practitioner manipulated their neck, showed the greatest improvement.
