Job Exposure to Lead Linked to Lou Gehrig's Disease

When Dr. Freya Kamel of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in North Carolina and her team compared the lead exposure of 109 patients who had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (aka ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) with 256 healthy people, they found that the ALS patients reported more frequent work-related exposure to lead.
