High Mercury
Level Linked to Heart Disease Risk
(New York, Reuters Health, 4/25/02)
Finnish researchers, led by Dr Jukka T. Salonen, found a
correlation between high mercury levels (detected through hair
analysis) and heart disease risk. Dr. Salonen suggests that
the men in the study who tested high for mercury, most likely
consumed contaminated fish of varieties that are low in
Omega-3 fatty acids. |
