Finnish researchers, led by Dr Jukka T. Salonen, found a correlation between high mercury levels (detected through hair analysis) and heart disease risk. Dr. Salonen suggests that the men in the study who tested high for mercury, most likely consumed contaminated fish of varieties that are low in Omega-3 fatty acids.
