Fish Oil May Cut Fat in Diabetic Patients' Blood

When Dr. Martin Petersen from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Rolighedsvej, Denmark and colleagues studied 42 diabetic adults, the researchers found that fish oil had a moderating effect on some areas of their lipid profiles. Triacylglycerol (TAG), a fat associated with cardiac disease, decreased for subjects who took 4 grams of fish oil daily for 8 weeks In addition, 2 subtypes of HDL ("good" cholesterol) rose.
