Lower Blood Vessel Inflammation

When Earl S. Ford of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in
Atlanta reviewed the data for 14,000 adults in an ongoing US study, he found
that participants who reported higher levels of physical activity had lower
concentrations of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in their blood. An elevated CRP level
may be a sign of inflamed arteries and this type of inflammation has been linked
with cardiac disease and diabetes. Scientists, therefore, speculate that, by
lessening the inflammation, exercise can decrease the risk of these serious,
chronic diseases
