EPA: Diesel
Exhaust May Cause Cancer
(Washington, YahooNews, Health-AP, 9/4/02)
The Environmental Protection Agency reports that there is
persuasive evidence that exposure to the diesel exhaust of
large trucks can cause respiratory problems and cancer.
Environmentalists welcomed the report, but have expressed
concern that the government may not go forward with the strict
regulations necessary to reduce these truck emissions. |
