Drinking
Water Linked to Lower Heart Disease Risk
(New York, Reuters Health, 5/8/02)
Scientists at Loma Linda University in California, led by
Jacqueline Chan, analyzed over 20,000 lifestyle surveys and
followed the study participants for 6 years. They concluded
that people who drank 5 or more glasses of water daily were
less likely to suffer fatal heart attacks than those who drank
2 or fewer. On the other hand, people who drank greater
amounts of other fluids were more likely to die of coronary
disease. |
