Clues on
Vitamin E's Anti-Prostate Cancer Effects
(New York, Reuters Health, 5/29/02)
Dr. Shuyuan Yeh of the University of Rochester Cancer
Center and fellow researchers report that Vitamin E protects
against prostate cancer by inhibiting the production of both
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) and AR, the androgen receptor
which is the receptor for testosterone. Fewer androgen
receptors render the cell less able to turn on prostate cancer
genes. |
