Antioxidant
Levels of Common Teas Vary Widely
(San Diego, Reuters Health, 2/26/02)
When Susanne M. Henning of U.C.L.A. and colleagues tested
for catechin, an antioxidant in black and green teas, they
found wide variations by brand. In fact 2 iced tea mixes they
tested had none at all. Joe Simrany, president of the Tea
Council of the USA said that the industry is working on
creating standards for labeling teas' antioxidant content. |
