Allergies Linked to Panic Attacks, Study Finds
 (New York, Reuters, 7/5/02)

According to a survey of 3000 Americans headed by Dr. Renee Goodwin of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in NY, hay fever sufferers are nearly twice as likely to have had panic attacks than their peers. Goodwin theorizes that either there is a common cause that makes a person vulnerable to both conditions or that the difficulty in breathing associated with allergies may induce panic attacks.
