Oregano Oil
May Protect Against Drug-Resistant Bacteria
(Washington, DC, Georgetown University Medical
Center, 2000)
When Dr. Harry G. Preuss of Georgetown University Medical
Center, and team, exposed staphylococcus bacteria to oregano
oil in a test tube, the researchers found that the oil
inhibited the growth of the bacteria as effectively as
conventional antibiotics. In addition, these scientists found
that, in controlled studies that lasted 30 days, mice infected
with staph bacteria were more likely to survive if they were
given oregano oil than mice that were given either a placebo
or carvacrol, a substance found in the oregano oil.. |
